I like the approach of training the business guys how to use the 'methodology behind the modeling'. It sounds pragmatic from the point of view that the whole enterprise doesn't have to be re-engineered as SOA prior to starting the BPM work. Let's hope the business guys have the aptitude and time to grasp a reusable BPM approach.

Now all I need is someone to help me next week when I get trapped in a small room with a 'consultant'!

 In my defense I'll say now that the, part real / part imaginary consultant I had in mind was an independent with minimal credentials. Not one of those professional CapGemini guys I've had the pleasure of working with in the past!
